What is archery?  

The indoor archery season takes place from October to March. During this time we shoot at King Charles 1 High School, Kidderminster on a Saturday afternoon from 13:30 to 16:30.

The cost per session is £5.00 per adult member, £6.00 per visitor adult and £3.00 per junior.

Tournaments  

Please note that all WFCA club members are expected to help setting up and removing equipment.

Parish Games  

The outdoor archery season takes place from April to September. During this time we shoot on Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoons at Arley Sports and Social Club, Upper Arley which we share with the cricket and football clubs.

Please note that archers are expected to set-up and remove their own bosses.

Postal League  

Any dates agreed with the club by the cricket or football clubs where shooting is not permitted will be posted to the events diary and also on the club notice board in the shed.

   
   

The field is marked out in both yards and metres with distance markers on the fence. The shooting line, datum line and distance lines are marked.

   
    Outdoor shooting is free for WFCA club members. Visiting archers are most welcome to join us and a visitors fee of £TBA applies. This fee should be paid to a member of the committee and the log book completed with the date, visitor's name, club and GNAS number.
     
    Safety & Etiquette

Please take note of the following guidelines concerning safety and good shooting practice which should be observed when shooting at the club field:

   
     
    Archery Etiquette (taken from the GNAS guidelines)

A Good Archer:

§   Does not talk in a loud voice when others are shooting.

§   Does not talk to another archer who obviously prefers to be silent.

§   Does not make any exclamation on the shooting line which might startle another archer who is in the     act of shooting.

§   Does not go behind the target to retrieve his/her arrows before his scores have been recorded.

§   Does not walk up and down the shooting line comparing scores.

§   Does not touch anyone else’s equipment without permission.

§   Does not leave litter.

§   When calling scores, does so in groups of three. For example, “7-7-5” pause “5-3-1”

§   If he/she breaks another’s arrow through carelessness, pays for it in cash on the spot.

§   Thanks the Target Captain at the end of the round for recording the scores.
