About Us

WFCA runs archery beginners courses throughout the year. The frequency of these courses depends on the level of interest in the course and the availability of archery coaches.

History
Beginners

Our courses are supervised and taught by trained and qualified coaches. Each course comprises 4 sessions of 2 hours which is split over 2 weeks. The cost is £30 per person.

What is archery?
Juniors

WFCA will provide all the archery equipment you need and we strongly recommend that you do not purchase any archery equipment until after your course.

Shooting Info
Tournaments

Upon successful conclusion of your beginner's course you will be awarded a certificate of achievement and will be invited to join the club and GNAS. Membership of GNAS provides you with ongoing liability insurance and this is an essential requirement if you wish to shoot. You are not permitted to shoot at any venue, including the club ground, if you do not have GNAS membership. Unlike full club members, beginners are only insured to shoot during their lessons and while supervised.

Once you have completed your beginner’s course, you will need to purchase your own equipment if you wish to continue with archery. Members of the club will be more than happy to assist you with this and can provide you with details of the local archery shops.
